Admission Process

Our College offers two types of courses Bachelor of Education(B.ed) and DIPLOMA IN ELEMENTARY EDUCATION (D.EL.ED) only.Both B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) and D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education) are teacher training programs, but they cater to different educational levels and have varying objectives:

B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education)

B.Ed. is an undergraduate degree program that prepares individuals to become teachers in schools. It is typically a 2-year program, although the duration can vary depending on the educational system. The B. Ed. is a two years professional teacher training course approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Our institution is under Bhim Rao Ambedkar Bihar University , Muzaffarpur and consequently to NCTE. The course curriculum intends to professionally equip future teachers with all the requisite theoretical knowledge and practical skills required by the teachers to handle the challenges of the classrooms of the new millennium.
On the completion of the course an external exam is conducted by the university and the successful candidates are awarded degree by Bhim Rao Ambedkar Bihar University , Muzaffarpur. Admission for the current session under 2 year mode is going on.Candidates with at least 50% marks, either in the Graduation and/or in the PG or any other equivalent qualification, are eligible for admission to the programme. Admission will be granted on the basis of his/her performance in the written test. The college follows strictly the policy of reservation of the Govt. of Bihar. Here are the details of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course including duration, eligibility, admission criteria, selection procedure and syllabus.

Eligibility for admission :

Candidates with at least (50% marks) above in the bachelor’s/master’s degree with at least two school subjects (English, Hindi, Mathematics, Botany + Zoology, Physics + Chemistry, Economics, History, Civics and Geography) at the graduation level are eligible to apply. It is not sufficient for a candidate to have appeared at the degree examination and be awaiting results. He/She must already be in possession of the degree and the mark sheet. Those taking any other course simultaneously with the B. Ed. course are not eligible. Admission will be granted on the basis of entrance tests comprising of a written test group discussion and interview.

Age Limit:

The Candidate must be above 18 years on 1st July.

Length of Course:

The course is one-year duration. Students must be prepared to attend classes daily for 09.45 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. Seminars, Co-curricular activities, Practicals; and Tutorials will be held on Saturdays. One hour craft classes will be held from 4.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. twice a week.

Medium of Instruction:

A suitable combination of English and Hindi will be used as medium of instruction. Examinations can be written either in English or Hindi except in language subjects. Thus the medium of instruction and examination for English method will be English and that for Hindi method will be Hindi.

Objectives Of B.Ed

  • Prepares graduates to teach a wider range of age groups, typically from elementary to secondary school (depending on the specialization chosen).
  • Offers a more in-depth study of educational theory, curriculum development, and assessment strategies.
  • May involve specialization in a particular subject area, allowing graduates to teach specific subjects at the secondary level.
  • Requires a bachelor's degree as a prerequisite and is usually a two-year program.
  • Be sensitive to the social, professional and administrative contexts in which they need to operate.
  • Develop an artistic and aesthetic sense in children through art education.
  • Attain a sound knowledge base and proficiency in language.
  • Understand the way learning occurs and to create plausible situations conducive to learning.
  • Consciously attempt to formulate one’s own professional orientation as teach in situation-specific contexts.

*The B.Ed course admission shall be through a combined common entrance test B.Ed.(CET-B.Ed) for all B.ed colleges affiliated to state uinversities of bihar.

*The CET-B.Ed will be conducted by a state universities of bihar selected by the governors secreteriat each year for this purpose

D.El.Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education)

D.El.Ed. is a diploma program that specifically focuses on elementary education. It is designed to prepare individuals to become teachers for primary-level students.

Admission D.El.Ed.:

Admission in D.El.Ed. Programme will be on the basis of entrance exam organised by college .Candidate will be able to apply by filling application available on college counter . The eligibility criteria for D.El.Ed. programme is as follows :-

  • Candidates must be 12th pass from Recognised Board.
  • The minimum marks for applying the examination is 50% ( 45% for candidates belonging to reserved category.)
  • The minimum age for apply in D.El.Ed.2018 Entrance Examination is 17 years. There is no criteria for upper Age.

Location:

The college is located in very congenial surroundings at about 8 k.m from Muzaffarpur town, right on N.H 28 and just across Kanti thermal power station .

Application form and Documents:

The prospectus and the application form for admission shall be available at the college office and at locations notified by the college management . Following documents must be submitted at the time of making the application.

  • Attested photo copy of certificates and Marksheets of matriculation, intermediate/+2, graduation or Post graduation.
  • Attested Original CLC.
  • Two passport size photographs ( Coloured).
  • Attested photo copy of cast certificate (in case of Sc/ST/EBC/OBC/BC/Handicapped).

Selection procedure:

The merit list of successful candidates will be drown up on the basis of the marks obtainedin the entrance test. Admission will be offered to candidates as per serial number in merit/waiting list subject to the availability of seats.

Objectives Of D.EL.ED

  • Focuses on equipping individuals to teach students in elementary grades (typically classes 1 to 8).
  • Provides a strong foundation in child development, pedagogy (teaching methods), and curriculum design specifically for younger children.
  • Emphasizes practical skills through classroom observations and teaching practice, enabling graduates to manage classrooms effectively and create engaging learning environments.
  • Generally a two-year program after completing high school.
  • Learn how to make productive work a pedagogic medium for acquiring knowledge in various subjects, developing values and learning multiple skills.
  • View knowledge as personal experience constructed in the shared contexts of teaching-learning, rather than embedded in the external reality of textbooks.
  • Be sensitive to the social, professional and administrative contexts in which they need to operate.
  • Develop the needed counseling skills and competencies to be a ‘facilitator’ for and ‘helper’ of children needing specific kinds of help in finding solutions for day-to-day problems related to educational, personal and social situations.
  • Learn how to make productive work a pedagogic medium for acquiring knowledge in various subjects, developing values and learning multiple skills.
